End of Life Doula
I walk the path with you providing space for all.
My passion and commitment to my clients as an End of Life Doula is to BE THERE for the dying person, so they have a NEUTRAL person to FEEL SUPPORTED and help them express and convey their wishes to their loved ones too.
My Experience
My natural therapies clinic work has always attracted people who have cancer diagnosis’s as well as terminal illnesses.
When I expanded my clinical knowledge and experience with oncology clients over the years using specialised Oncology Massage, Reflexology and Reiki, it became apparent that I was already in a “doula” role offering holistic support . It was therefore a natural progression and passion through my clinic work to become an End of Life Doula.
I am also a NDIS support carer and offer that support alongside my Doula work , this has strengthened my knowledge of empowering individuals to make choices about how they wish to live their lives & the variety of options available.
I’ve had the privilege to work with many clients who are considered “young” to die as well as more senior ages groups – I have closely worked with families and individuals that span in the age group of 30 – 65yrs old, this often is due to unexpected health declines or terminal illness where the support is needed most through the “shock” of what is occurring.
What is an End of Life Doula?
I provide support, education, compassion, and the ability to share knowledgeable options, allowing the individual to have their death unfold in alignment with their wishes. Every person should feel safe, supported & guided during this important transition.
I offer compassionate emotional and practical support for the individual and their families during diagnosis, care, dying & death.
This includes:
- Helping to complete Advanced care documents & legal requirements
- Offering support & advocating in medical appointments
- Explore funeral wishes & end of life celebrations options
- Liaise with medical staff & community service providers.
- Creating Rituals & Ceremonies for end of life and funerals
Using all my skills as a trained holistic practitioner, I intend to bring my deepest presence to every conversation around death and dying so that everyone has a voice and feels supported
